If the reader thinks I have delivered unduly harsh judgments on India and Hindu civilization, I can refer him to An Area of Darkness and India: A Wounded Civilization, two quite brilliant books on India by V.S. In his book Naipaul is only highlighting the wounds inflicted by the foreign invaders. Many of us suffer from borderline racial uneasiness to be hollow. 1962, 1975, 1988, Naipaul went to India three times, and wrote three books on India, which is: “India: A Wounded Civilization,” “dark and Nation: Indias staggered memory and reality,” “India: Today millions of mutiny. He probably mumbled a few words of chaste Assamese in support of his Bengali brothers; A certain acquaintance requested me to 'buzz off ' because Chennai was playing and they were doing well. I m not really qualified to give opinion, but my “ off the cuff” response is that he is not much relevant or being talked about in India,as much as in west. The hostel assistant chuckled at RCB's miserable score. Help heal our civilization, once again. Girish Karnad has showcased his vile agenda when he misinterprets Naipaul's books India: A wounded civilization as anti-Indian Muslim. The second in the series, India: A Wounded Civilization was written at a time that was even more disastrous for the country – the Emergency period. An Area of Darkness by VS Naipaul India: A Wounded Civilization by VS Naipaul I first read Naipaul in the mid-90s: India: A Million Mutinies, The Enigma of Arrival, and A Way in the World. Several reviewers termed this book a 'journalistic masterpiece'. The issue with Naipaul and NRIs comes down squarely to his books about India (both the essays and travelogues, e.g India: A Wounded Civilization) and what he says about the place and the people – and how he says it. VS Naipaul in his perceptive book “India – a wounded civilization” writes of the scars left by islamic and foreign invasions on the hindu civilization.
